Website Policy (User Agreement)
This website was primarily designed to serve students. While the following policies were crafted with student use in mind—particularly Trinity students—, the following policies apply to all users of this site and will be enforced to the fullest extent possible.
Users of this site do not have unfettered free speech rights in regards to the content that they post here. Postings or comments that are offensive, abusive, bullying, trolling, sexist, racist, slanderous, defamatory, lewd, illegal, or otherwise determined unacceptable will not be tolerated (see moderation section below). The SGA and its selected agent(s) have the final say in what is and is not acceptable for use as content on this website.
Trinity College policies and procedures, as made explicit in the Student Handbook, are applicable to the users of this website. Violations will be handed over for judification.
General Expectations
All users of this site are expected to:
- Be courteous—follow the golden rule.
- Give accurate information.
- Disagree with others in a respectful manner.
- Post and respond to posts with content that is germane to the topic being considered.
- Consider the possibility of fault and respect different points of views.
- Take full responsibility for their actions.
Moderation
Comments and posts will not be published and/or will be immediately deleted if they are determined to be unacceptable content. The SGA and its selected agent(s) have the right to define and determine what is “unacceptable content” on a case-by-case basis. Definitions are not limited to any list.
As an non-definitive example, the SGA defines unacceptable and inappropriate any content that:
- is abusive in nature (users may not harass, stalk, or threaten others).
- is libelous or knowingly false.
- infringes upon any copyright, trademark or trade secret of any third party. (Plagiarism is not tolerated)
- is illegal.
- violates an obligation of confidentiality or privacy.
- is sexist, racist, slanderous, lewd or defamatory.
Legal Notice
The opinions expressed in comments and posts are the sole responsibility of their creators. While the SGA will do everything within reason to ensure that users of this site abide by the policies and procedures of both this site and Trinity College, the SGA accepts no liability for such users or their actions. If you feel that there is inappropriate information on this website please contact us immediately.
The SGA reserves the right to amend this policy without notification.
