Muslim Students Association
Muslim Students Association
MSA was founded 5 years ago and has continued to grow in membership over the years. The Association serves the Trinity Community in three major ways. First, it provides support, services, and advocacy for the Trinity Muslim community. We hold daily congregation prayers, study circles, diners, campus wide social events and other events that members express interest in. Second, Muslim Students Association establishes a forum whereby all students and the greater community can learn about the Islamic faith and way of life. There are many misconceptions about Islam and what it really means to be a Muslim living in America. Our goal is to educate others about what it is that we do and how we practice our faith. Two of our very successful educational/social events are our annual Ramadan Banquet and Islam Awareness Week, at which students learn about why Muslims fast, taste traditional Islamic food, learn about misconceptions as well as socialize with MSA members. And thirdly, MSA serves as a bridge to promote understanding and good will between religious and cultural organizations in the greater Hartford area. We have interacted with youth groups from Bosnian-American Islamic Center, Muhammad Islamic Center as well as Seminary in West Hartford.
