Moving Forward
VP Post October 27th. 2008, 11:55pmI want to start by saying that i thought the rally today went extremely well. I would also like to extend my thanks to the people who spent so much time to make this great event possible.
The purpose of this post is simple, to keep the dialgoue going. I would love to hear ideas from anyone about how to make Trinity a more accepting and tolerant place.

If everyone takes away one message from the rally today, I’d like it to be Tomas’ message that we need to all personally stand up for one another in our every day lives. We need to take it upon ourselves to call out our friends when they say even passively racist or otherwise close-minded statements, and we need to take care to not use that sort of language ourselves. If moving forward, we all eliminate oppressive language from our own vocabularies, and make an effort to eliminate it from our peers’ vocabularies, we’ll be light-years ahead of where we stand today.
