SGA Finance Secretary: Bridget Mazet ’14 Senators for the Freshman Class, IDP, and at-Large will be elected during the Fall Election in September 2012, along with any vacancies from the Spring Election.
Student Commencement Speaker Contest
Deadline: May 1, 2012
The SGA is looking for any senior interested in delivering a commencement speech to the Class of 2012.
If you have a message or experience you think will resonate with your fellow classmates please submit a speech to sgapresident@trincoll.edu
You will also be asked to come in before a student-faculty panel to deliver your speech.
SGA Class Elections
The next round of elections for the SGA Senate will be taking place on April 25th at noon.
The following positions will be voted upon:
- Five Senator positions open to undergraduates for every class year
- One Class President for each class year
- One Class Vice President for each class year
- One Class Secretary for each class year
If you plan on running for a position, please turn in your election application at the Mather Hall Welcome Desk by noon on April 24th.

2012 SGA Election Debate
The 2012 SGA Election Debate will be held tomorrow at Mather Dining Hall from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Food from First & Last Tavern will be provided.
This is your chance to listen to listen to executive officer candidates discuss current issues on campus and personal aspirations for the coming school year.

Any student interested in running who are currently abroad should contact Preston Haxo by email with the name of a student who will submit your petition and run your campaign.
The following events will be happening as part of the Countdown to Election Day:
- 4/5 Participating in Democracy Common Hour Event come to Terrace Rooms A & B to learn about the history of voting rights, and how YOU can be more civically engaged from the Secretary of State’s Office.
- 4/8 Information Session for any student interested in running- Sunday @ 6:15 in Terrace Rooms A & B.
- 4/10 Debate for all Executive Positions during dinner in Mather (you may be in for a treat!). Anyone running for an executive position must meet the requirements laid out in the SGA Constitution.
- 4/11 Petition Due Mather Welcome Desk by Noon
- 4/11 Election Day! Polls close on THURSDAY, April 12th at Noon.

OPEN MEETING on Campus Safety
Tomorrow, your student government will be holding an open meeting to hear any member of this community’s unique perspective, proposal, and possible remedy that you have for the Trustees and their appointed Administration. We will make sure that all of the feedback is provided to them that same day, before their meeting on Saturday and that this feedback will be part of the decisions made by the Board of Trustees. We extend our invitation to the greater Hartford community, and to the leadership of this College.

Position of the SGA on Campus Satefy
The Student Government Association will convene an special session of the Senate tomorrow, March 7th, to study and discuss the College Administration's announcement of new measures to improve the Campus Safety Department. It is the hope of the Executive Board to be able to deliver an official statement by the end of Wednesday. We encourage students to contact their elected representatives with concerns an opinions on the matter.
