Hello,
I apologize for the recent malfunctions of the website. Some unexpected errors occurred and it took me some time to figure out what was wrong and then how to fix it. Tonight I will be performing some site maintenance to help ensure this does not happen again. I will post again when I know how long the site will be down for this update. Please be patient, and it should go smoothly.
Thanks,
Sarah

Results of the 2008 Student Survey

Uncategorized No Comments »

In November 2008 the Institutional Research and Planning Office randomly selected 613 Trinity
College students for this survey, and mailed them links to the survey online. After three
reminders we closed the survey with 330 students responding, amounting to a 54% response rate.
Since the response rates varied significantly by gender and class year (from 38% among Senior
males to 71% among Soph females) results have been weighted by gender and class year.

View the results here to see what your peers had to say about their experiences at Trinity.

Call for Student Panelists on Critical Reading in the Digital Age

Academic No Comments »

The Center for Teaching & Learning in conjunction with several other campus units is looking for students interested in participating in a panel discussion on Critical Reading in the Digital Age early next semester. During this session we will discuss the impact of new technologies (e.g., Google, Blogs, Facebook) on the process of reading and how this is affecting our teaching and learning practices. In a multimedia era, what’s the role of the printed word? Do you read more, or at all? How do you handle class assignments? Can you multitask and still be a critical reader? Even if you don’t use much technology, you probably have dealt with these issues. If you are interested, please fill out the form available here.

Participants will receive a gift certificate to an online bookstore. This event is sponsored by The Dean of Faculty’s Office, The Center for Teaching and Learning, Academic Computing, The Blume Language & Culture Learning Center, the Trinity College Library and the Allan K. Smith Center for Writing and Rhetoric.

TrinitySGA.com Goes Global

Have you ever thought to yourself: “It would be cool to see a map of the world that indicates where all Trinity students currently are?” Probably not. But here is a map that indicates where in the world Trinity students were when they accessed this website in the last 24 hours:

Map of Trinity Student Access

You may also be interested in knowing that in the first week of operation this website has had 2,177 hits. We have been averaging around 100 unique visitors each day in addition to the growing number of regularly returning visitors.

It’s great that so many of you are finding the site useful. Look forward to even more interesting content as the SGA starts to delve into the big issues this semester.

TrinitySGA.com Live Senate Meeting Today

Senate Meeting 4 Comments »

The first senate meeting of the Fall semester will take place today at 4:00pm. In an effort to make the SGA more transparent to the Trinity community, we will be broadcasting the meeting live on TrinitySGA.com. Please come back and join us at 4:00pm. You can watch the video here and even ask questions in real time!

Please also note that this is the first time we have done something like this. Please bear with us as we work any kinks out of the system. See you at 4pm!

Update:
Well, the first live broadcast of an SGA meeting went well. As you can see below, it was also recorded. However, for some reason the audio did not come through in the recording (although my understanding is that the live version sounded fine). I will be working to resolve the issues with recording the audio for next week. It is my hopes that we can maintain an archive of these meetings in video format in addition to broadcasting them live.
