Hello Trinity students,
The Academic Affairs committee of the SGA has been very active this year making Trin better with the course evaluations, the registrar’s forms in Mather, and ISBN numbers. We would to continue to make academics fun and exciting by organizing Interdepartmental Trivia night among different departments. This would mean that different majors would form teams and compete in a trivia competition. We are thinking that it would be an evening affair and that professors would also be part of the game.
However, we would like to know if students would be interested in something like this before going through with concrete plans. We welcome all feedback, comments, concerns, questions, and ideas for a Trivia Night. Please let us know so that we can make this happen for you!

Hello all–
So this semester I worked on getting registrar’s forms in Mather and getting a student on the Reading Initiative Committee. So far, both have worked out well. If there are any other forms students would like to see at Mather, please let me know. Otherwise, we’ll try to make sure that all the forms are there.
If anyone has a suggestion for the Academic Affairs committee for next semester please let us know! We are always trying to improve the Academic atmosphere of this campus!
have a happy holidays and good exam week!

Hello All–
Quick update on what I’ve been working on as apart of the Academic Affairs committee. After going to the First Year Orientation Debrief, an idea was introduced to have a student on the committee that selects the book that First Years read over the summer before school starts. I met with Dean Lindsey who welcomed it as a good idea. Last night, I brought it to the SGA body, and we elected Alison Ford as our student representative to the Reading Initiative Committee. So Congrats to her!
Along with Terry, we have worked very hard with the Registrar’s Office to get a cabinet that would have some popular registrar forms placed in Mather. Hopefully, it will be by the post office so that students can drop off the forms at the post office and send it through inter-campus mail. Thanks to Patricia McGregor for working with us to make this possible.
If anyone would like to have more forms other than the ones that are already online to be online, please email me or straight to the registrar, Patricia McGregor, with your suggestion. She is very open to uploading most forms that can be put online on the registrar’s website.

Hello! I’m updating the Trinity community on what’s been going on in Food Committee. Some of my peers and I have met with Toby several times during the last few weeks to talk about some important changes we want made to Chartwells. One was the “rollover” idea: He has told me that it’s on his minutes and ready to be discussed. I have stressed how much Trinity students would really like to see that happen in the near future. We’ve also discussed the overpricing in the Cave and in the Bistro. A lot of the prices are assigned because Chartwells is a business and must cover all of its expenses. However, we are working on ideas to make more meal ideas in the Cave (ex. cereal, milk, fruit and an oj) so that we’re not constantly scrambling to find random things to make a meal and spend most of our time practicing our killer addition skills. If anyone has any suggestions about a meal/combo, please email me (rebecca.herrigel@trincoll.edu) or Toby (toby.chenette@trincoll.edu) with ANY suggestions! Again, Food Committee meets every Thursday at noon in Mather. All are welcome to join and voice their opinions, constructive criticism, and suggestions in order to make their Chartwells experience the best it can be. Rebecca.

As part of my role on the Campus Infrastructure Committee, I am the SGA member on the Chartwells Committee. Every Thursday at noon, we meet with Chartwells directors in Mather. We offer suggestions, comments, questions, and concerns to Chartwells about all three eateries on campus. Toby Chenette, the Director of Dining Services, is very friendly and eager to please the students. We are, in fact, the ones eating the food. I have asked about a variety of things including more fruits and vegetables in Mather to getting different hours at the Bistro. We discussed the topic of Trayless Tuesdays that have been recently implemented in Mather. As much as they are completely open to the idea of getting rid of the trays all together, the bigger issue is the amount of food waste that is created each day. Sure the amount of water saved on not washing the trays is a good way to save water, but reducing our food waste would make even more of a difference. We have also opened up the idea of “rollover” flex dollars. I personally hope that this will come to pass. I look forward to seeing some of our suggestions taking place soon. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to: let me know, send Toby an email, or come to the meeting! It is open to all students, and they are interested in a variety of voices on campus. See you next thursday at noon in Mather!
