Campus Pub

My project for now this semester is to help facilitate and and organize the creation of a campus Pub. As of now, architects are in the process of surveying a space in Mather Hall in which the Pub would be located. The main potential roadblock for the pub is water. Plumbing systems that would be necessary for the pub to work out would need to be extended from the cave kitchen to the location where the pub will be located. The question is whether this is feasible both logistically and monetarily.

I spoke with President Jones earlier this week to talk about how to push this process onward and to get a potential time table for this project. He essentially said that he has wanted to get this pub created for the last two years, but other projects have taken priority. This year, it seems, he is ready to get this project going. President Jones said he hopes, and believes, that this Pub could be completed by the end of this school year ( depending on the architects response about plausibility with extending the existing water systems). My next step is to talk to Dean Alfred about more of the details for this pub (licensing, contracts, staff, aesthetics, funding, pub name, creation of a student and faculty committee to get this project going) If you have any thoughts, ideas, questions, comments etc please do not hesitate to e-mail me, or respond to this post and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
