Here is the Fall 2009 Election Packet.
Boil Water Advisory Lifted
A message from Campus Safety: The CT Department of Public Health has lifted the “boil water advisory” for all affected regions after recent tests have met water quality standards. In the near future, officials will be conducting the seasonal flushing of the public water supply system. As a result of these operations, the water may be cloudy or discolored, but this temporary condition does not pose a health hazard. For more information, visit www.theMDC.com. Rejoice! I hope this means ice cream in Mather again. –Adam
Campus Safety Water Alert
An email from campus safety:
“The CT Department of Public Health has issued a “boil water notice” for the City of Hartford and surrounding towns after microorganisms were found in the public water supply. These microorganisms are not harmful to humans and do not cause any known health effects in drinking water. However, as a precautionary measure, officials are advising the following until further notice:
Do not drink water directly from the tap or a water fountain.
Those with access to a kitchen may boil water for one minute before drinking.
Routine water use (such as showering, hand washing, brushing of teeth, and the washing of clothing and dishes) is fine without boiling the water.
Chartwells is aware of this situation and the staff is adjusting their food preparation procedures as necessary.
For more information, visit the CT Public Health website (http://www.ct.gov/dph) and their FACT SHEET (http://www.ct.gov/dph/cwp/view.asp?a=3139&q=438906).”
Check your Trinity email for more updates from Campus Safety on this matter.
