Hey just thought I’d also drop a line about the SGA Newsletter that went into everybody’s mailbox today at noon. The idea was developed by Eamon Welch ‘09 of ERC, and furthered by the ERC Committee, so thanks to your Senators for keeping everybody updated! If you have questions about anything in there (as in, “how can I get a free meal through After Office Hours), browse this Blog and of course feel free to email me at adam.katcher@trincoll.eduP.S. wRAP It Up free STD/HIV testing tomorrow at Austin Arts during Common Hour. Malcolm Brown, Chair of the Safety and Wellness Committee, is making sure we all stay healthy and have a good time (food and live music). Be sure to swing by!
Hello! Just a reminder that completed election forms are due to Mather Front Desk at 5:00 pm TODAY (Thursday). No exceptions! Campaign hard, everybody!
Nature Calls, and the SGA answers:
An inevitable aspect of college life is use of “The Can.” To make this aspect of Student Life more fulfilling, and to integrate the SGA into your daily lifestyle, the ERC Committee created On the Can, an idea spawned by Joe Melillo and carried out by Joe and his fellow Senators.
On the Can is essentially a “flyer” posted on the back doors of bathroom stalls. This glorious source of reading material will serve as yet one more way for you to stay informed as to how the SGA is serving the student body.
On the Can is coming soon to a facility near you. Enjoy.
**”solution sheet” coming soon on the www.trinitysga.com blog

Constitutional Referendum Wednesday by online vote
Elections, Recruitment, & Communications No Comments »The SGA will be holding an online student referendum to vote on changes to the SGA Constitution. You will receive an email on Wednesday, December 17 through which you can vote.
Here are a few of the proposed changes that a “Yes” vote would support:
- Create the Entertainment Activities Council (EAC) to replace the Trinity College Activities Council (TCAC):
Under the change, EAC will replace TCAC and become a branch of the SGA. It will allocate the EAC Budget to student groups requesting money for parties and events. EAC will include members elected by the student-body and will be led by the Vice President of Student Entertainment elected to the SGA Executive Board.
- Create the position of Financial Secretary to serve Budget Committee and EAC
- Increase the number of student-elected representatives on Budget Committee from four to seven members
- Eligibility requirements for candidates of SGA Executive Board positions (e.g. one semester of experience on SGA)
Hand Sanitizer dispensers were installed this week in Mather, the Cave, and the Bistro. I encourage everyone to use them! Just place your hand under there and the motion detector will take care of the rest. Be sure to stick around for all three (3) of the automatic squirts.
Getting this done was a semester goal of the SGA’s Safety and Wellness Committee, chaired by Andrea Wise. We hope everyone can reduce the risk of illness by using these dispensers!
Thank you to Toby Chenette of Chartwells for not only providing the dispensers but for taking care of everything necessary for their installation. He really responded enthusiastically to the SGA’s idea and stepped up to serve the student body, from providing high-quality dispensers and sanitizer free of charge to installing them around campus. Thank you, Toby and Chartwells! I think it just goes to show that sometimes the best way for students to get things done around here can simply be to ask.
